This site is dedicated to the support of Stratagem's DOS and Windows(tm) based technical analysis software. Beginners, casual traders and professionals rely on Stratagem's technical support for quick and correct answers to their questions. Through the forum, you will be able to explore ideas with us and other investors/traders worldwide. We will maintain a library of ready made systems, custom formulas, "how to" tips and announcements of upcoming items of interest to all.
We will log on at least once each day (Monday-Friday) to keep current with your communications to us. We will try to keep our response time to the absolute minimum.
Stratagem was formed by a group of former CompuTrac employees as a result of the closure of CompuTrac by Dow Jones Telerate in April of 1994. We began operation in June of 1994. Our intent was and still is to continue supporting the many members of CompuTrac worldwide as well as to finish development of the promised Windows(tm) program. We have succeeded in both efforts.
Our focus now is on continuing the development of SMARTrader for Windows(tm) and other pending Windows(tm) projects according to the expressed wants and needs of our members.

SMARTrader Professional is a DOS-based technical analysis software program designed to assist serious traders to make informed trading decisions using their IBM-PC or compatible computer. SMARTrader features over 80 resident tools and studies, and it has the ability to be easily programmed by the trader to run proprietary studies. SMARTrader will also evaluate the profitability of your trading system over historical data by applying rules you specify for entry and exit positions. The program will even automatically alter the variables in your trading system to "hunt" for the most profitable combination. SMARTrader Professional reads CompuTrac/MetaStock format data files.
SMARTrader for DOS is a simpler version of SMARTrader Professional. This program is equal in capacity to the "Professional" version in most aspects with complete system testing, optimization, and automation capabilities within. SMARTrader for DOS is more "graphics" oriented rather than "paper" oriented with the ability to plot graphs of a trader's Open Profit/Loss, Closing Profit/Loss, Trade Profit/Loss, and Equity lines. Because "graphic" capabilities are more prominent here, this version comes without some of the hardcopy report generation found in the "Professional" version. Based on surveys, SMARTrader is one of the most intuitive, flexible and easy technical analysis programs available today.
